Even though most women hate having a monthly menstrual cycle, almost none of them actively look forward to menopause. The following are symptoms that you should look out for if you or one of the women in your life (girlfriend, wife, mother, sister, daughter) is close to the age where menopause usually starts.

Lots of women will gain weight when they start to go through menopause. Menopausal weight gain happens in very specific locations. A woman going through menopause will gain the most weight in their waist and their thighs. This makes a woman’s waistline disappear. Most women hate the idea of gaining weight. Many women who are menopausal report that one of the most troublesome symptoms is suddenly not being able to sleep through the night.
