Supreme Court Gives More OK to Sue Drug Companies
By admin on Mar 4, 2009 in Social
The Supreme Court ruled patients can sue drug companies even if the drug has FDA approval.
The ruling came from a case where a woman was given an injection of phenergren for nausea.
The drug entered her blood stream causing gangrene in her arm and she later lost the arm.
How will this ruling effect us as caregivers?
Or will it really matter?
Often times our aging parents are on several medications at once and when they experience a bad reaction, such as my Dad’s muscle weakness.
It is very difficult to figure out which drug is causing the problem- especially when you only have four to seven minutes with your doctor even if you’re lucky enough to get in to see him.
