New Hospital Gowns Give Dignity Back to Patients

One of the biggest problems experienced by the sick in hospital settings is the frightening loss of control and dignity.  I don't think medical personal take the time to deal with this issue as much as they should.

Healing is psychological as well as physical.  If a sick person is stressed out it can hinder the healing process. These poor people are often in the fight of their lives and they need to be well equipped to go into it with all the positive, not negative, weaponry.   With all the strange noises, different personalities, and those terrible hospital gowns, not to mention the not-so-good food, no wonder some patients do not thrive in such environments.

Thank goodness someone is finally doing something about it.

Dearjohnnies and Spirited Sisters  are two hospital clothing companies which create  fashionable and dignified hospital wear to help make the  patient feel human again.

And it's about time.  This is one of those areas we can all ask why didn't someone think about this sooner?

A fashionable gown is "not going to give your sleep back or make you a wonderful mother or make your cancer go away, but it does give you some choices back," says Beth Allen, manager of outpatient services for women at Northside Hospital in Atlanta.

Read more about this trend which I believe will tremendously help a lot of people, including our aging parents  in the future.
