Mail Carrier Saves Elderly Woman's Life
By admin on Jul 7, 2008 in Social
A very observant mail carrier who cared is being hailed a hero after saving an elderly woman's life.
The mail carrier saw that Betty Borowski's mail had not been picked up in two days, and knew something was wrong. Looking around, he found the 91-year-old trapped underneath her car. She had gotten stuck while trying to retrieve her car keys. Mrs. Borowski lives in Greendale, Wisconsin.
We've known about caring postal employees for years, because often they take an interest in the elderly people on their routes.
I think it would be interesting to tally up the number of people who have been saved by their mail carriers. I'm not sure where to find the statistics, but they would probably be staggering since many of these heroes prefer to remain anonymous.
If your parents are still living alone, it would be advantagous to get to know their mail carriers. Just as this mail carrier saved an elderly woman, your parents' mail carrier could possibly become your future hero.

New Website Proves Aging Can Be Fulfilling We've discovered a new website from Elder Magazine. It's Eldr.com and it's certainly different. Their attitude particularly impresses me because they are 'celebrating aging' rather than treating every one's senior years like some kind of disease we all have to experience if we live long enough. Some of eldr.com's features prove......
