Another, more high tech, option to store these documents is by scanning them into a computer and saving them to a flash stick. If your parent or elderly loved one does not have a computer, use your home PC and keep a flash stick copy for yourself to back up your hard drive and their documents. Flash sticks are relatively inexpensive and can easily fit into the mentioned safety deposit box. I know that my deposit box is too small for large documents and this is how we keep track of all our important records.

Safety deposit boxes do tend to be small, and flash sticks are perfect.
