Celebrities Battle Elder Abuse
By admin on Jun 13, 2008 in Social
Ed Asner, Art Linkletter and LAPD Police Chief William Bratton are among a growing group of celebrities who are fighting elder abuse.
Elder abuse is a big problem in our society and we've written about it a lot because we're sickened by its impact on our elderly.
Elder abuse is also one of those closeted subjects that has been hidden in our past because a lot of us didn't want to face it.
Now, we're having to deal with it because we have to save our elderly from predatory caregivers.
The celebrities have a documentary, Saving Our Parents, that I think is a must see.

"Saving Our Parents" is a valuable resource for everyone — especially those who appreciate that forewarned is forearmed.
NASGA (National Association to STOP Guardian Abuse) is pleased that "Saving Our Parents" includes information on conservatorships. Unlawful and abusive conservatorships/guardianships are a growing epidemic. Conservators and their attorneys get rich off the backs of their helpless and vulnerable wards; and shockingly it's all "legal". When the estate is bled dry, the conservators move on — leaving behind broken lives and broken bank accounts as well as and their penniless wards. Who picks up the Medicaid tab then for the wards' care for the remainder of their life?
The US Taxpayer!
