Are Cellphones Dangerous?

Are cellphones dangerous? Are cellphone dangerous, or are the warnings a lot of hype?

This controversy has been going on for several years now and we're still wondering if cellphones give off enough radiation to put us and our children in danger.

The jury is still out.

And the jury may be out for a long time.

Should we be concerned?

Six countries are now trying to curtail too much useage by children.

Those countries include France, Germany and Israel.

Here's another point I observed this morning while picking up my paper.

I saw a person walking by my driveway fumbling with a cellphone.

Not unusual.

Something struck me as odd.

The phone gave her a reason not to have to interact with me.

I now think one of the  reasons a lot of people use cellphones  in public a lot is because the phones are good crutches.  They don't have to interact with others, make eye contact, or speak to strangers while on the phone.

The phone gives them a certain degree of security.

Cellphones might even be replacing cigarettes as something people used to hold, just to have something to hold.  I honestly used to think that was the reason why some people found smoking attractive.

Maybe I'm wrong.  Maybe I'm making too much out of it.

Maybe younger people especially, want you to hear their phone conversations.  Why?  Who knows?

I still like to conduct my conversations privately, but maybe I'm old fashioned.

I don't want a perfect stranger to know there's a problem with the trash pick-up or we need to get the brakes fixed, etc.

Which brings us back to the danger of cellphones, if the danger exists.

I've chosen to be safe because I don't like cellphones.

There, I've said it.  I've never liked them, really.

I use mine seldomly.
