Neighbors are protesting an Alzheimer’s facility which is being built in their Twin Cities Suburb. They claim the elderly patients could possibly be a danger to their children. They fear violent dementia patients or patients who may act out sexually. They are also very concerned about security.
Experts are now attempting to explain dementia more fully to the neighbors and to calm fears for those who have not been around the elderly Alzheimer’s people very much.
This is a difficult situation because it is causing tension between the older and younger. Can they compromise? Are their objections reasonable or do they need more information and tolerance?
What do you think?
