77 Year Old College Student Sets New Goals
By admin on Nov 2, 2009 in Social
77- year old Ed Guest is the oldest student at Stayer University and may actually be one of the oldest college students in the country.
But that's not what sets him apart.
Ed is a retired Navy man and has experienced a lot of history first hand. So that qualifies him to help teach some of his history classes.
His fellow classmates are in awe of him as he tells them about the Cold War, Missile Crisis and Korea, from a personal view of someone who was actually in the middle of those events.
He is also encouraging baby boomers as well as their children to go back to school.
If you're thinking about returning to school read more about Ed Guest here

That's really impressive, a 77 years old man starting studying, but why not?
The other students can really profit from his knowledge and learn history not only by facts but also by personal experiences and that makes learning more interesting.

That would really set an example for most of them who either question the importance of college or think that college is not worth the investment. Going back to school at the age of 77 seems to be a daunting task, but then there is a feel of self satisfaction along with it. What makes this possible is the evolving education scenario. Online learning makes education more accessible and within every ones reach. I enrolled for an online graduate degree with Stevens-Henager College when I was laid-off. As a result of the education that I received I am in a better position and a career today. There are certain other elements and benefits that an online degree has to offer. Of course with senior fellow classmates there is always something new to learn.
