Health Care Bill: Is It Doomed?
By admin on Sep 8, 2009 in Politics
The Health Care Bill is being delayed.
That's not a bad thing.
A report from the Washington Post informs us that Congress is taking a second look.
We can only hope it will be a longer, more informed look this time.
There are many questions which need to be answered before we change how, where, when, and if we'll receive medical care.
But clearer thinking and wiser heads are beginning to come forward. Some of them are Democrats and some of them are Republicans.
They're questioning the government insurance option as well as the cost.
It is still my belief that the government option will drive insurance companies out of business. Not that I would grieve.
My insurance company, which will remain nameless for now, is gouging me on the premiums and I'll state that openly.
I won't reveal the exact amount I pay per month but I will say the equivalent could probably lease a loaded Mercedes( not one of the entry level models).
(I would not spend the money on a car, I would save it, if it was still in my pocket.)
But I worry about paying the future premiums. How much longer can I keep this up?
However, I am not for driving these companies out of business. I am for more competition. If there were more competition, I think prices would come down. Probably pretty fast.
But we need to use good level headed common sense throughout all of this debate.
Please Congress, take your time. Get this right.
