GPS Devices for the Supermaket?
By admin on Jun 5, 2009 in News
Inventors are working on a GPS device which will guide the elderly through supermarkets.
As people of all ages know, grocery shopping can be confusing for everyone, not just seniors.
But a GPS device that would guide seniors and give them more confidence as they grocery shop is an invention many of us will be anticipating.
Also underway are sensors for drawers and cabinets which will help seniors, and especially elderly Alzheimer’s patients, remember where they left things. The senors will feed the information into a computer.
Frankly, I could use that right now.

This is clever. Now, lets hope this is not too expensive since this is for the elders.

While I was comparing blogs online, I discovered your blog – quite by accident. After reading several posts, I think this is a good blog.

Finally! A blog that keeps things simple! I had been looking everywhere for something that would work as well as your blog does. Your blog articles are so impressive, I just had to take a moment to write and tell you about them.

GPS units for the grocery store! That would be great! Even though I always take a list with me, I tend to skip aisles and then have to back track to get what I forgot! If this would help me then I can’t wait until it comes out! Plus, if it helps you find those uncommon items that you just aren’t sure where they would be, that would be even better!

Wow, with all the gadgets in the works, i think we will soon be so dependent on gizmos when we grow old. I just hope it won’t be too much to handle.

Maybe, they should get a device to detect the car itself. My father is 70+ now and once he forgot where he parked his car in a supermarket.

They are not only able to use GPS to guide people through supermarkets. They are also trialing little transmittors so that the amount in you trolley will automatically be totted without queuing.
