Some Muslim women may have the answer for really protecting yourself from skin cancer.

They are wearing total body suits in the water instead of skimpy, stringy bikinis and other miniature swim suits that not only don’t cover you but can expose you to the harmful UV rays of the sun.

They are wearing the total one piece cover suits primarily for modesty.

But I think they have hit on something very important here.

I have been waiting for someone to invent or design clothing that will truly protect you from the sun. This could be a whole new industry waiting to be discovered.

I live in a hot humid area (in the summertime) and I’m outside a lot. I like the idea of completely covering myself with some sort of suiting that not only helps to keep me cool but will block harmful rays.

Please, I need this now, before I get skin cancer.

I don’t think suntan lotion is enough, and telling us not to work or play outside during the hottest hours of the day won’t cut it either.

The women come from the Middle East where just about everyone, including the men, cover themselves from the hot sun. They don’t take off clothing. They put more clothing on.
Why? Because they know it protects them.

Also- on a side note, I don’t really understand why women are being banned from a public pool for modesty. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

I spend four years in art school ( I used to be a portrait painter) and believe me, I’ve seen in all and I’ve drawn it all.

We studied the human body for a lot of that time with a Gray’s Anatomy book and a drill sergeant anatomy teacher. Each of us was required to build a human figure out of clay, practically one bone and muscle at a time. It was no picnic.

What I learned from it all is that very few people have the perfect body. Why show all your figure flaws, warts and all, to the public? I’ve never really understood that.
