By admin on Nov 3, 2008 in Health and Fitness, Main
MK-677, a new drug that helps prevent seniors from losing muscle mass, is now being tested.
So far the results look promising. Testing seniors have gained muscle mass in their limbs. Their appetites have also increased.
There was also a reported drop in the LDL, the bad cholesterol.
If MK-677 is successful, it could have tremendous implications for future seniors.
One of the biggest problems for seniors is increased frailty. If frailty can be delayed, or stopped, many future seniors will be able to live independent lives for much longer.

It may take 3-4 for testing, and the long term side effect will be evaluated about 10 years later.
