Did your aging Mom like you best or was another sibling the family favorite?

Really, why should it matter now that everyone is middle aged or older? Besides, you’ve got aging parents who need caregiving and there are more important things to think about. Or are there?

Believe it or not, it could still make a huge difference in the way you interact with your elderly parents and your siblings. That’s because the hard work of care giving can sometimes dredge up old feelings from childhood that you may have thought were long forgotten.

It can also matter sometimes if you feel you are doing all or most of the caregiving while a brother or sister gets a pass, so to speak. That’s especially hard to handle if your parents often criticise your caregiving and constantly compliment your absent siblings.
