Can dieting stop Alzheimer’s?
By not eating as much, can we control the devastating effects of diseases like Alzheimer’s, Diabetes and muscle weakness?
Scientists at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine think they have the answer.
They believe a lower-calorie diet slows the development of some age-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, as well as the aging process.
How?
By controlling calories, a protein called CBP is allowed to flourish. This protein controls cellular function and can help keep cells healthier as they age.
Scientists are hoping to develop drugs that will be substitutes for the natural CBP.
