The New York Times has an excellent article on how to spot the early signs of Alzheimer's.
Changes will occur such as lapses in judgment, and there will be other symptoms of Alzheimer's such as attention, personality and memory problems.
The article talks about risks for Alzheimer's. They include a long history of high blood pressure, a past head injury or trauma, and possibly high levels of homocysteine.
Tests can be given for a diagnosis and should be done as quickly as possible so that Alzheimer's therapy, such as it is, can begin. Something is better than nothing.
If you have a close relative with Alzheimer's that can also increase your risks.
