We'll still be searching for  the Fountain of Youth in 2008, but it is possible we may be closer to a major anti-aging discovery thanks to the humble roundworm.

As it turns out, we possess a lot of  genes  similar to the roundworm's.  So it's good news that scientists have discovered a group of genes in worms that can prevent cancer and slow the aging process.

Will it be  possible  to create drugs which can mimic those genes?

If so, will we   live longer, and  look younger  like the Caenorhabditis elegans roundworm?

We can be reassured that researchers at the University of California, San Francisco will be working diligently to find out as they seek  natural ways to combat cancer.
