Creating sleek and sexy arms is not very hard at all and you can see results in a matter of weeks by doing a few simple exercises and adding in an exercise video or two. For great looking arms, there are three muscles you need to train – your biceps, triceps and deltoids (your shoulders). It’s important to remember that some of your muscles are stronger than others, for example your biceps are stronger than your triceps – this is normal – so you may want to use different size weights for the different muscle groups. But never sacrifice form for intensity – listen to what your body is saying! And if you’re body is saying, “that is too much”, it probably is.
To tone and sculpt the front of the arm (the bicep) bicep curls are a great way to start. Start with straight arms and your elbows next to your waist, and your palms facing upward, and simply lift your forearms toward your shoulders without moving your elbows and then straighten the arms.
If you want to tone up the back of the arm, you will want to find a variety of exercises that target the triceps. Dips are a great triceps exercise: To do them, find a sturdy chair, with your back towards the seat, place your palms on the chair with your fingers facing towards your body and bend your arms and then straighten them.
The deltoids are the muscles in your shoulders and a nicely shaped shoulder really looks nice! To sculpt your shoulders you will need to exercise your deltoids. To do a lateral raise, with your weights in your hands, stand with your arms to your sides and simply raise your arms to the side to shoulder level and lower in a slow, controlled fashion.
These are just three exercises for your upper body, there are literally hundreds of moves to sculpt your arms, so you may consider getting a few workout videos to give you a few more exercise options. By working your muscles differently throughout the week, you will get faster, more effective results and you will prevent exercise burn-out.
It’s really not that hard to have beautifully sculpted arms and shoulders, with just five or ten minutes a day, you can make dramatic improvements in the look of your arms. Once you have mastered these basic moves, take your workout a bit further and try a few new exercise videos to teach you new ways to do old moves and notice your results improve.
