There’s a refreshing new approach to in-law suites.

Many families are moving elderly parents and older relatives into their homes primarily because it works much better than a nursing home or assisted living.  And it’s cheaper.

Builders are recognizing the needs of these multi-generational families and are now providing good plans for giving the elderly their own spaces which are designed to accommodate their special needs.

One very important point brought up is that the elderly need more than a spare bedroom.  They need a private living area which should include a small sitting room or den separate from their bedroom. 

I agree wholeheartedly with this modern approach to an ageless problem because everyone needs their own space.

Also when the children  and grandchildren are entertaining their friends, elderly family members do not always have to be part of the party.   An social life is important for the younger family members and they should be able to have people over.  This solves one of the biggest obstacles for moving the elderly into your home.
