Many Canadian Baby Boomers Helping Aging Parents

taking care of aging parentsThere are many Canadian baby boomers helping their aging parents, according to a recent poll.

So if you are also a caregiver for your parents, you are not alone.

One third of Canadian boomers are spending their time and resources in some way  in order to help their parents.

Because of the time boomers are contributing, experts are comparing eldercare as to having a  part-time job.

The breakdown of what boomers are doing for their parents is also interesting.

Providing transportation- 64 percent

Household chores- 55 percent.

But I think another point is the rewards of helping your parents.

Caregiving is hard.  I'm not going to say it's always easy.  But it's rewarding.

Not only will you have more time to be with your parents, but you will also feel like you are helping them.  That means a lot because you feel like you can do things to make their lives easier and more pleasant.
