Indian Man Caring for Blind Parent Gives Inspiration
By admin on Aug 15, 2008 in Care

Here is an inspirational story coming out of India about a young man named Kailash Giri who cares for his blind aging parent.
Kailash, who is too poor to afford transportation, actually carries his blind mother on a sling and has been faithfully performing this service for her during the last twelve years.
India, like America, is experiencing many of the same problems in caring for the aged and elderly. The turmoil continues in both countries as to how these services will be done.
But I can't help reflecting on Kailash's daily sacrifice and unwavering devotion for his mother. This is respect shown in the noblest way.
There's a lesson here for all of us who struggle to care for our parents' physical, spiritual, social, and emotional needs, and it is coming from the humblest of us.
We don't want regrets. After everything is said and done, and there is nothing else we can do for our parents, we don't want guilt to move in and take over our lives.
As hard as it is, or it may become, a guilty conscience may be the greatest, most difficult burden of all.
Not carrying your blind mother on your back for twelve years as Kailash has done, or the daily care many of us give to our elderly.
