I've read about it over the years. It is unthinkable that those who are most vulnerable are abused in their final years of life. If I had a relative in a distant location in a nursing home, I would insist on installing a "nanny cam", and I would hire someone (on my behalf) to go in on a regular basis, at least weekly, to check-in with administrator and visit the elderly person.
