Can Caregiving Build Stronger Family Bonds?
By admin on Apr 8, 2008 in Care

Guilt in caregiving.
That's the subject of an article about the Nahra family from Davenport, Iowa.
Part of the process of taking care of your parents involves overwhelming stress, according to Marilyn Woelke, a caregiving counselor for Alternatives for the Older Adult.
Have you turned down a job promotion because of your caregiving and the fact that you couldn't take on the extra necessary hours?
But there's another side to caregiving. Building stronger family bonds.
"My mom would say, 'we had a great day.' That would warm my heart and soul. A great day was a movie, or we went outside or went shopping. But we shared a day," says Jennifer Nahra.
I wholeheartedly agree. Enjoy your folks and savor the small moments. You want your future memories to be good.
