Adult Sibling Rivalry Affects Caregiving

2littlegirlsAdult sibling rivalry can have a big effect on how you caregive for your aging parents.

Too often problems arise concerning who is going to do what. Many people who care give feel they are bearing more of the responsibilities than their siblings. This creates major conflicts.

How can you work these problems out?

The article Caregiving Creates Sibling Conflict has some excellent pointers.

One is to always communicate.

When you keep quiet and you don't express your feelings, it gets buried into your anger. This isn't healthy for you and it certainly won't accomplish anything.

Another point is to bring in a geriatric care manager for your parent's care.

More people are bringing in geriatric experts who can help you navigate senior needs and caregiving much more efficently.
