3 Highly Effective Ways to Improve Memory

You believe your parents are getting more forgetful.  You may even  be experiencing some memory lapses yourself.  Don’t panic.

Just because older people, and even some younger ones, can’t remember names or where they put their glasses, doesn’t mean they’re doomed to Alzheimer’s disease.

Forgetfulness could be a simple sign of basic normal aging.  And according to new studies, there are simple but highly effective ways to  fight back.

Here are three ways experts believe can greatly  help  seniors  avoid certain  forms of memory loss due to aging.

1. Physical exercise, such as walking three times a week, can help your brain.

2. Keeping your mind active such as giving yourself work and play challenges.

3. Having an active social life  which satisfies the basic human  need for interaction with others.

Lauran Neergaard has a very interesting article which gives insight on cognitive aging.

The article points out new discoveries  which are happening everyday in this field.

For example, an old blood pressure drug, guanfacine,  is now being studied for  children who have attention-deficit disorder. There are also possibilities  it could be used for seniors.
