America the Beautiful

Tackling the challenges of old age is never easy, but I still think this is the best country in the world to grow old in, primarily because it is home.
On our 232nd birthday, we can enjoy tremendous blessings brought to us by many who have sacrificed over the years to give us our freedoms.
I’m reminded of the story my uncle told of facing certain death as he landed on Utah Beach during the very early morning of the Normandy invasion. “Bullets were flying all around us like flies,” he said.
Earlier the men had been served steak for breakfast aboard the ship. It would be the last meal many of them would ever eat.
We can have picnics, fireworks and blessings today because of them.
Here is a gorgeous video about our country, state by state. (Tennessee is still my favorite) See if you can spot your state.
