Keeping Mother Safe at Home shows first hand how two sisters successfully care for their Alzheimer’s-stricken mom. They are doing it without moving their mom into a nursing home or uprooting her to one of their own homes.  And it’s working for now.

How do they do it?

There are some very excellent practical tips such as unplugging the stove, placing a giant ’stop’ sign on the stairs, and getting a lawyer  to confirm the parent’s last wishes.

Thanks to these creative solutions to home care, Kim Jones’ and Melanie Wright’s 85-year-old mom can stay in her own home without going into   a nursing home.   They know that eventually she will have to move, but she is happy today.

That gives dignity to a less than ideal situation.
