A Blood Test for Alzheimer’s
By admin on Apr 7, 2008 in Health

Is it really possible to get a six year warning for Alzheimer’s?
Will people be able to take the simple blood test and have a diagnosis six years ahead?
Will people want to know?
I think the article from the UK shows a lot of promise. I don’t think it’s just hype anymore. If this isn’t the test, one will come along soon, and that’s my opinion.
However, if you live with elderly parents who show signs of dementia, frankly you don’t need a test. You already know.
But the article raises a very strong problem- insurance. Will those who are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s lose their insurance?
Also, what is really the basis of finding out you have a disease like Alzheimer’s if there is no cure, or at least a way to control the chronic condition?
