Care Giver Urges Others to Ask for Help

Tom Begert-Clark  author of "Rosie John Doesn’t Live Here Any More…One Family’s Journey in Eldercare" has an open letter to all care givers.

This is a thoughtful and insightful piece on the reality of care giving and covers the good points as well as the bad points.

Care giving is never easy, but can be immensely rewarding if you ask for help.

Begert-Clark discusses juggling schedules and work as well as time for yourself. In caring for his Dad who was diagnosed with Shay Dragger’s disease, which is similar to Alzheimer’s, he realized you should not be shy in asking for help.

There are many resources available for care givers and they are there to be used to the benefit for everyone involved.

If your health suffers because you are taking care of your aging parents, you will be limited on how much you can really  do for them in the future.
